Breckin is our foundation Ocicat queen. She came to us from Rita Legget (Yesso Ocicats), in Norwich. Her parents have both been successful on the show bench, her father being the gorgeous blue Grand Champion, Thickthorn Blue Skipper. Her mother is a lovely chocolate girl, Thickthorn Delphinium. Breckin has fantastic Ocicat type, with a lovely wild-looking head and lovely cupped ears. She is a big girl, too, her spine lines are already breaking up nicely, and she has lovely clear spotting.
Breckin is very playful, and loves running up and down our hallway with a toy mouse in her mouth. She is close to both the other 'babies': Kia and Monty, and the three cuddle up together when they take a break from playing. When Breckin first saw our Ocicat neuter, Tármus, she instantly seemed to recognise her as an Ocicat, and started calling loudly to her, even though she had ignored the other cats up 'till then. She is not particularly cuddly, preferring to run around at the moment, but when she does come for a stroke, she purrs very loudly and will then roll around on her back for you to reach every part of her.
Breckin's first outing onto the show bench was a very successful one, as it involved her taking Best Kitten at the Ocicat Club show when she was just under four months. Since then she has gone on to make up to Champion at just under 11 months, winning certificates from Mr Morris, Mrs Harper and Mrs Kalal. The only show where she didn't take the certificate, she lost out to one of Rita's own girls, who was much more mature and developed.
Since Breckin's father was a Blue, she definitely carries dilute. Her father also carried cinnamon, and both parents carried Classic tabby, so it is possible that Breckin does, too.
